The Best Thank You Gifts For Nurse Preceptors
Finding The Perfect Gift For Your Preceptor
Your nurse preceptor is more than just a mentor; they’re a guide, a teacher, and often, a friend. These nurses take the time out of their busy shift to foster the next generation of nurses without expecting anything in return. Although it is definitely not expected, getting a small gift to express your gratitude is definitely appreciated by the preceptors and is a gesture to show them that what they do matters. If you are going to give a gift, I would avoid anything overly expensive, as this could create an uncomfortable situation. The most important thing is the thoughtfulness and sincerity behind your gift. A heartfelt gesture is often more appreciated than an expensive item.
When I was doing my clinicals back in 2019, there was not a lot of gifts that were specifically for nurse preceptors (especially not ones for guys). I ended up getting my preceptor a gift card, but it didn’t feel like it was special enough to fully convey how much I appreciated all of his effort. Today in 2024, there are so many gifts that are just for preceptors. I created the following list to help you find the perfect gift for your preceptor. There are gifts for guy preceptors, practical items, sentimental gifts, and nursing essentials. Pretty much everything on this list can be given to a nurse practitioner preceptor too! These items are budget friendly since an expensive gift is not expected for this kind of event.

Gift Ideas For Your Preceptor
1.) Candles
These candles are sure to make your nurse preceptor smile. I especially like them since candles are not an overly feminine gift and they are great for sarcastic nurses. Almost everyone like candles and they make a long lasting gift.
